A Day Dedicated to Beer? Yes Please!

A Day Dedicated to Beer? Yes Please!

International Beer Day falls on August 2nd this year, and is followed by International Hangover Day (completely unrelated, I'm sure).

This beer-loving holiday was founded in 2007 and has three guiding principles: give the gift of beer, sample beers from other cultures, and thank those involved in the making and serving of beer. With help from Rapids, you can incorporate all of these objectives into your celebration!

Give the Gift of Beer

Growlers not only help you give the gift of beer, they also work as a marketing tool! If your customers want to take home some of your best brew to share with their friends and family, a growler can help build brand awareness and expand your customer base!

Both our 32 oz and 64 oz growlers have a large decorating area for you to emblazon your eye-catching logo or snazzy slogan. The amber glass color will protect your beer from harmful UV rays and prevent spoilage, so your beer will taste great for as long as possible.

We offer a number of growler fillers for your convenience - one that fits over the beer faucet, one that fits inside the beer faucet, and one that is compatible with Perlick forward-sealing faucets. Growler cleaning tablets are available as well!

Sample Beers from Other Cultures

While you may not be able to bring in beers from other cultures, you can certainly expand customers' beer awareness by offering a special on beer flights!

Beer flights give you the (h)opportunity to showcase your best beers while also providing exposure for new brews.

Rapids offers a number of write-on tasting boards (in crushed bamboo or reclaimed wood) and tasting caddies (in reclaimed wood) so you can quickly and easily make a change to your flight - you can even let the customers choose what beers they want to try! An added benefit of writing the beer names on your tasting boards is that your customers can more easily order another glass of their favorite!

Don't forget the glassware! Mini beer glasses make the perfect addition to beer flights - mini flute glasses, mini Frankfurt mugs, mini Pilsners, and mini flare shooters are all available through our webstore!

Show Your Appreciation for Bartenders

While there are many ways to thank your bartenders for their service, equipping them with the right bar refrigerators and beer dispensers is an option that will benefit both of you! Our Volition line of bar refrigeration is priced to fit within your budget while still offering reliable performance and durability.

The Volition beer dispensers were designed with the perfect pour in mind - cold air is pushed up from the cabinet into the beer column to reduce foaming and provide consistent cooling. You can choose from a portable kegerator or a 59"W, 69"W, or 95"W draft beer dispenser for your bar.

If you need more space for your bottled products, Volition also offers back bar and bottle coolers. The back bar coolers (available in widths of 59" and 69") are heavy-duty for a longer lifespan, and they combine the advantages of storage and advertising potential.

The bottle coolers (available in widths of 50", 65", 80", and 95") are designed to allow easy access to your canned and bottled beer products. They have easy-slide lids that lock for security and a removable bottle opener with a cap catcher for additional efficiency.

Help customers show their appreciation too! A well-placed tip jar can encourage extra expressions of gratitude.

The Best Cure for a Hangover? Don't Get One!

While the only foolproof way to not get a hangover is to not drink, ensuring you have something in your stomach other than alcohol has been known to help with prevention.

Incorporate food into your International Beer Day celebration to promote responsible drinking habits and increase the chances that some of your customers may actually enjoy National Hangover Day (because they won't have one!).

Bloody Mary Bar

One easy way to encourage your customers to eat while they drink is by putting together a Bloody Mary bar. This bar can contain just about anything, from celery and olives to shrimp and beef jerky to cheese squares and hard boiled eggs! Your customers will love building their own Bloody Mary, and the food will help counteract the effects of the drink.

Blowout sale! Our hawkers have moved to a new design, and we need to get rid of the old models! There's only one problem - the old models are missing their straps! The solution? We suggest using them as a tabletop merchandiser for your Bloody Mary bar! There are only a few left in stock, so get yours now!

Filling Comfort Foods

Another way to encourage your customers to eat is by offering their favorite comfort foods - burgers (and any other high-protein food), popcorn, pretzels, and more!

Fry up that burger, pop that popcorn, or warm up those pretzels, then serve them up in a heavy-duty red basket that can easily handle the demands of a commercial environment
