Few in America have suffered the brutal effects of this COVID-19 pandemic like those in their senior years. Not only are these Americans at the highest risk of becoming seriously ill from the virus, but they can also be the segment of our population with the greatest amount of disruption in their lives. For many seniors, daily tasks like preparing meals requires the assistance of others. When protocols change and the inability to secure labor and supplies takes hold, many could go hungry or worse.
Our team helped package 20,000 meals that will be sent around the world to feed children in need. Funded by Metro North Rotary.
The second annual Rapids Chili Cook-Off took place today, combining delicious food with the chance to better the community through charitable donations. Twenty-seven employees came together to judge seven chilies, raising a total of $125 for United Way.
Our St. Louis branch chose to give their portion of our RapidsCares donation (5% of the proceeds from the sale of our Volition line) to Sweet Celebrations, a non-profit that provides birthday parties to children in homeless shelters.
Each year, Rapids Wholesale donates 5% of the proceeds from our Volition line to a charity, non-profit, or other organization that improves the lives of those in our community. Our 2018 Cedar Rapids branch recipient is Café 361.
