What Is a Booster Heater?
A booster heater is a kind of instant heater that helps to increase water temperature for a specific purpose, usually for washing dishes. A commercial water heater booster can either be a stand-alone unit or—more commonly—can be part of commercial dishwashers.
One of the advantages of using a hot water booster heater for the final rinse phase is that a higher temperature of water not only kills harmful bacteria and germs but also effectively and easily cuts and cleans stubborn oil and grease off glassware and dishware.
Important Factors to Consider before Purchasing a Dishwasher Booster Heater
In most cases, a booster water heater is required on all high-temperature commercial dishwashers. A hot water heater booster will effectively ensure that the final rinsing process of dishes is at the correct temperature range (around 180 to 195 degrees Fahrenheit) to ensure sanitation.
This is one of the biggest reasons that it is important to purchase a stand-alone heater booster for high-temperature dishwashers that do not yet include a built-in booster heater for dishwasher. It is important to remember, however, that the electric booster heater you should purchase must facilitate the correct rise in temperature, making sure that the incoming water temperature is just right. An electric booster water heater are much like small water heaters; however, unlike their full-size counterparts, it is not possible to adjust manually the temperature in an electric water heater booster. Typically, each booster water heater is designed to produce either a forty- or seventy-degree spike to the incoming water temperature. This hot water is then used to rinse and sanitize dishware and glassware in the final rinse stage.
It is therefore important to indicate which spike in temperature you prefer when choosing a hot water booster heater. This temperature spike also lets your kitchen staff know what the incoming water temperature should be at. For instance, in a forty-degree spoke, the incoming water will need to be at the very least 140 degrees; for a spike of seventy degrees, 110 degrees Fahrenheit is enough.
