Chili For Charity | RapidsCares 2018

The second annual Rapids Chili Cook-Off took place today, combining delicious food with the chance to better the community through charitable donations. Twenty-seven employees came together to judge seven chilies, raising a total of $125 for United Way.

Each chili was a definite contender for the title of “Best Chili”, and the judging originally ended with a three-way tie. After a quick tiebreaker, the chili made by Courtney Collins (a Rapids Warehouse Associate) emerged triumphant.

Interested in trying our favorite chili recipe? Courtney was kind enough to give us a rundown of her ingredients (although you will have to decide on how much of each you add), so give it a shot and let us know what you think!

Courtney’s Chili Recipe

  • Tomato Juice
  • Italian Sausage
  • Jalapenos
  • Jalapeno Juice
  • Kidney Beans, Chili Beans, Red Beans
  • Hot Sauce (Add your favorite, though Courtney recommends Louisiana and Valentina Hot Sauce)
  • Mild Salsa (Add your favorite)
