Kegged beer requires tapping equipment for dispensing.

• One of the most important parts of your keg beer dispenser is the keg coupler. The keg coupler attaches to the keg's valve and to a CO2 compressed gas line. It allows the compressed air to enter the keg and push out the beer. While the most common coupler is a System D Coupler which fits U.S. Sankey Keg Valves, it will depend on the beer you are tapping as to what type of coupler you need.
• Kegged beer uses CO2 to move the beer from the keg through the tap and lines up to the faucet. You will need a CO2 gas Cylinder and a dual gauge regulator. Make sure that the cylinder is filled with gas and the valve is closed. Pair up the egulator to the CO2 cylinder, the attach the gas line to the “gas out” port on the regulator and secure in place with a clamp. Then, attach the other end of the gas line to the “gas in” port on the coupler. Next, attach the beer line to the liquid out port on the coupler. You are now ready to connect the coupler to the keg.
• In general, kegged beer is fresher and more consistent than packaged beer.
• When your beer dispenser and beer lines are properly managed and maintained, the cost per ounce is significantly less than packaged beer meaning a higher profit for the bar owner.
