What is a Forward Sealing Faucet? What Are Its Benefits?

A Faucet That Works For You

Perlick's forward sealing beer and wine faucets are designed with a purpose, making them unique in both appearance and function. An innovative ball and floating front seal design prevents beer from being exposed to air, which provides two important benefits:

1) The handle level doesn't stick, with the added benefit of fewer internal parts, which means better reliability and fewer service calls.

2) There is no buildup of mold and bacteria in the faucet body, making forward sealing faucets the most sanitary of draft beer faucets.

Forward sealing faucets can be used with all beverages including wine and beer dispensing.

Additional Benefits of Forward Sealing Faucets:

  • Spout angle is more vertically inclined, allowing a more thorough draining after each pour - no horizontal area for beer to collect.
  • A polished interior - smooth flow, less agitation, and less foaming.
  • Easy to clean - may be cleaned in place.
  • The faucet’s forward sealing design eliminates the need for a valve shaft that's exposed to beer and air

Options from Perlick for Forward Sealing Faucets include 630SS and 650SS

Perlick 650SS – Flow Control Forward Sealing Faucet

In addition to Perlick’s patented forward sealing technology, the 650SS Flow Control faucet features a built-in compensator which allows for fine tuning the beer flow at the faucet. It compensates for:

• Beer that is not quite at optimal serving temperature.

• Too much line pressure.

• Improper bartender technique, including slowing the flow for pouring sample glasses, flights, and growlers.

• Excess foaming when pouring into a frosted glass.
