Oak Street Ladderback Chairs & Barstools | Which One is Right for You?

When you shop for restaurant furniture, chances are you will see a lot of ladderback chairs and barstools. With so many variations available, it can be hard to narrow down your options to find the seating that will work best for your restaurant and/or bar.

We've broken down some of the most popular design features and the benefits they provide to help make the decision easier.

Standard Design

The standard Oak Street ladderbacks (both chairs and barstools) have a black powder coated mig welded metal frame (with 1-1/4" steel tubing) and a black vinyl seat.

There are some alternatives with slight differences, such as a clear coat finish (available as a chair or barstool) or your choice of vinyl color: black, espresso, red, or wine (also available as a chair or barstool).

These are a solid choice for any establishment: they will meet your seating needs with ease and won't clash with your décor.

Budget Ladderback

If you are looking for a cheaper option, the budget ladderback may be right for you. It uses a 1.0 mm steel frame as opposed to the standard 1.2 mm, and has a budget black vinyl seat.

Standard Wood Seats

Vinyl seats aren't the right choice for every establishment - a wood seat won't rip, and comes in more subtle colors: black, cherry, natural, mahogany, or walnut. The metal frame on these chairs and barstools has a pleasing black finish.

Reclaimed Wood Seats

Reclaimed wood looks stylish no matter where you put it - it has enough character to make a statement in more neutral designs, but isn't so eye-catching that it detracts from more distinctive décor.

These units have a clear coat finish to enhance the look of the steel frame.

XL Furniture

Your customers don't come in just one size, so why should your seating? Make sure all of your customers can be comfortable at your establishment with these XL seats - they are 12% deeper and wider than other chairs!

The metal frames on these seats have a black powder coat finish.

Premium Silvervein Finish

It doesn't take a big investment to set the look of your dining area apart from the competition - something as simple as a silvervein finish can create the impression you want. The attractive mix of silver and black over a sturdy metal frame will complement almost any dining setup.

Ladderbacks with a Wood Frame

Most of the Oak Street ladderbacks we carry have a sturdy metal frame - if you prefer the look of a wood frame, we have several options for you. These seats have a solid beech construction, and you can choose from several stains for a finished product that will look great in your dining room: black, walnut, mahogany, or natural.

Swivel Barstools

Swivel seating is a great option if you are short on space - whether that's at your bar or between bar height tables. Instead of customers fighting for enough space to move the chair to get on and off all they have to do is swivel the top!

The swivel stool with a vinyl seat has the classic black metal frame, while the option with a wood seat has an attractive clear coat finish.

Outdoor Ladderback Seating

If you have patio seating, make sure you choose a chair designed to be outdoors. This chair has a specially e-coated frame and an additional exterior coat, while the black vinyl seat is marine-grade for superior durability.
