American Beverage Beer Dispenser and Kegerator Cleaning Kit Uses
Use American Beverage Beer Dispenser Cleaning Kit to remove yeast, mold, mineral deposits, beer stones and other impurities from your kegerator or beer dispenser system. Kit comes complete with a jar pump, beer line cleaning solution, and tools to ensure quality tasting beer and perfect pours. Your keg beer dispensing system should be cleaned regularly to prevent buildup and accumulation of impurities. We recommend cleaning the beer dispensers once a month in a bar setting. You should clean your home-use kegerator system between every keg or once a month, whichever comes first. Yeast and mold growth tends be accelerated in the warmer months. Jockey boxes should be cleaned between every use, especially during the summer months.
How to Use the Beer Dispenser Cleaning Kit
After shutting off the CO2 cylinder and closing the regulator valve, disconnect the keg coupler and place it into a clean bucket with the beer line still attached. Some couplers have a ball and ball retainer in them to keep beer in the line at all times. These would need to be removed, or you can use this sankey tap ball lifter to make sure the beer line is open. With the supplied spanner wrench, remove faucet, disassemble, and place the components in the bucket. Prepare the beer line cleaning solution in the jar pump and attach it to the shank where the faucet was. Then simply pump the cleaner through the system and scrub the components in the bucket. Afterword, pump rinse water through the system. Rinse and reassemble the faucet parts and the coupler. Reattach the faucet and coupler, and re-pressurize the system. It's pretty simple -- the unique jar pump does all the work for you.
How Does This Kit Differ from our Economy Kit?
The heavy-duty kit has a more rigid, tighter-sealing lid made of thicker plastic. As a result, this kit can create more pressure, allowing them to more effectively clean both kegerators and jockey boxes, as well as longer lengths of beer line. The economy kit is best-suited for simple kegerators and home conversion refrigerators.

Maintaining a Clean Keg Beer System
The component of a beer dispensing system that is most vulnerable to exposure to contaminents tends to be the faucet itself. Beer faucets on towers and kegerators should be protected when not in use. At Rapids, we recommend using a faucet plug. This faucet plug from San Jamar also has a little faucet brush attached, cleaning the inside of the faucet every time it is used! Pretty clever!
