The Vollrath PLC-4 stainless steel gravity-fed pull-down cup dispenser handles extra-large cups in the 4-1/8"–4-7/8" diameter range — the largest fountain drink and specialty beverage cup sizes. The 26-7/8"W x 5-1/5"D stainless unit mounts to a wall or the Vollrath RSCL-4 rotating dispenser stand.

The PLC-4 handles the largest cup diameter range in the Vollrath PLC gravity-fed series — 4-1/8" to 4-7/8" — corresponding to 44 oz and large specialty beverage cup sizes used at high-volume quick-service operations, large-format fountain drink stations, and specialty beverage service counters. The 5-1/5"D dispenser body is the widest in the PLC series, appropriately sized to contain and guide cups at the 4-1/8"–4-7/8" diameter range without binding or excessive clearance.
Extra-large cups present a different handling challenge than smaller cups. They're heavier when stacked in a full sleeve, creating greater gravitational force on the retention mechanism, and the larger diameter means any misalignment between cup and dispenser is more consequential for dispensing reliability. The PLC-4 is calibrated for this specific diameter range — the retention mechanism maintains reliable single-cup pull-down dispensing under the weight and diameter characteristics of extra-large cup sleeves.
For self-serve fountain drink stations where 44 oz and large cups are offered, the PLC-4 is the correct dispenser for those cup sizes — not an attempt to fit large cups into a medium cup dispenser by loosening the retention mechanism, which results in unreliable dispensing and occasional multi-cup releases.
