Restaurant Kitchen Towels

Restaurant kitchen towels are commonly used in busy commercial kitchens to help maintain cleanliness and hygiene by wiping counters, sinks, and other surfaces as well as to mop up minor spills. White cotton dish towels are the most commonly used as cotton is an excellent material for cleaning, wiping, and mopping up spills.

The Importance of Disinfecting Your Restaurant Towels

Kitchen dish cloths or restaurant towels are often moistened when used to wipe counters, tables, and other surfaces, and a moist cloth can actually become a breeding ground for potentially dangerous pathogens.

Harmful viruses, germs, bacteria, molds, and other pathogens can be avoided but only if you properly wash and disinfect your industrial kitchen towels. You can properly wash your restaurant dish towels via hand wash or machine wash, depending on the type of towel and also depending on what is convenient for you.

One convenient way to disinfect cotton dish cloths or waffle weave dish towels or other restaurant towels made of different materials is to heat the towel inside a microwave and leave it there for a couple of minutes. This is a relatively simple procedure, but it is also very effective. In fact, it can kill around 99 percent of potentially dangerous germs, bacteria, and other harmful pathogens. You will need to make sure, though, that the restaurant towels you want to disinfect via this method are sufficiently moist or damp in order to avoid causing fires.

A Closer Look at Industrial Kitchen Towels

Industrial kitchen towels are relatively wide in order to do a better job in cleaning, drying, and mopping up spills. Industrial kitchen towels measure around nineteen to twenty-six square inches. Industrial kitchen towels, most especially restaurant dish towels, are commonly used to clean and then dry dishware and glassware.

One important thing to remember, though, is that after hand washing or machine washing restaurant kitchen towels, you must dry them thoroughly to avoid regrowth of bacteria or germs and to prevent foul smelling kitchen towels.
